AMAZE WORLD REVIEW: Family Fun On The Sunshine Coast

Amaze World is a fun family-friendly attraction on the Sunshine Coast, aimed squarely at the kids.

The highlight of Amaze World is the large hedge maze which is the main feature of this adventure park. The hedge maze, made of immaculately shaped 6 foot tall Lilly Pilly hedges, features a windmill at one end and a platform in the middle that the kids can reach to check their progress in the maze. The kids will have great fun getting lost in this maze.

There’s a shaded viewing platform for the parents where in theory you can watch the progress of the kids in the maze. Although because the hedges are so high you can’t actually see the kids at all until they reach the middle platform or the end of the maze.

If you like theme parks, why not head down the motorway to the Gold Coast and have a day out to Sea World – read my full review here,

Also in Amaze World there are a few other mazes for the kids to enjoy:

  • A timber maze, with 8 dead ends and riddles to solve.
  • A tyre maze, where you have to follow a colour sequence to get to the middle of the maze – none of us managed this but it was good fun trying.
  • A rope maze, where you clip yourselves to a coloured rope and have to follow that same colour, clipping and unclipping the ropes around posts as you come across them.

Other activities on offer are an 18 hole mini golf course, a water splash area and a nature playground. And not forgetting the magic waterfall that you have to walk through to get into the park- make sure you time it right to avoid getting wet!

All of these attractions are included in your entrance ticket.

Amaze World has a small onsite cafe with plenty of seating. You are welcome to bring in your own food as well.

Looking for more things to do on the Sunshine Coast? Why not head to Mooloolaba, where there is plenty to keep you entertained. Read my full guide to Mooloolaba here.

Amaze World Final Review

With the cost of the tickets and the space they have available, they could perhaps squeeze in a few more mazes to give you good value for money. Instead of the playground which can be found in any other park, why not put another mini hedge maze in? It would also be fun if you could climb to the top of the windmill for a view over the hedge maze.

Overall Amaze World is something a little different and the main hedge maze is a great feature. With enough to entertain the kids for a few hours, Amaze World makes for a fun half-day out with the whole family.

Looking for more fun activities for the kids on the Sunshine Coast? How about Australia Zoo, only 20 minutes away. The kids can be Zookeepers for a Day. Read more about that here.

Tickets

Adults are $33. Children are $27. Infants under 3 are free. Family passes are available. Tickets can be purchased here. You can choose a timed entry slot, although Amaze World is rarely busy so you don’t have to buy your tickets too far in advance.

Getting to Amaze World

Amaze World is located on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland near the leafy suburb of Buderim. A 1.5 hour drive from Brisbane and a 40 minute drive from Noosa, you’ll need a car to explore this area.

Further Afield

The Sunshine Coast has plenty to offer visiting families. The coastal areas of Noosa and Mooloolaba have beautiful beaches and lots to do.

Or why not venture into the Sunshine Coast hinterland to the charming towns of Maleny and Montville. In Maleny you can visit Bird World, another fantastic family attraction. Read my full review here.
