If you’ve run out of things to do with the kids in the school holidays try these Brisbane school holiday ideas for some fun experiences to keep the kids busy.

Zookeeper For A Day

Australia Zoo runs an excellent Zookeeper For A Day program. This allows kids of all ages to have a go at feeding, looking after and patting the animals as well as getting behind the scenes access to the zoo and prime seats to the daily crocodile show.

Check out other local zoos as they will often run school holiday programs. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane is another whole-day option.

These sessions do tend to book out in advance so keep an eye out as soon as they release the dates. Read my full review of the Zookeeper For A Day program here.

Pizza Masterclass

Vapiano restaurants across Brisbane and Australia run fun hour-long pizza-making sessions in the school holidays for kids between 5 and 12. Kids will learn about pasta, herbs and kitchen safety before rolling out pizza dough and making their own pizza creations.

Pricing is $20 per child. The kids get a certificate, apron and a delicious pizza that they made themselves. As a bonus, if you stick around after the class for lunch you will receive 20% off your bill.

Paint And Sip

For the creative kids Rose Soiree in Bulimba runs kids Paint and Sip sessions during the school holidays. They run the school holiday sessions a few times a week and it’s a different painting each time. The kids will be stepped through the painting and finish with their own masterpiece to take home.

Pricing is $66 per person and includes all art supplies and an artist to guide them through the painting.

Kids High Tea

For something you can do together, how about a high tea. There are lots of establishments across Brisbane that do high teas for the kids. The hotels in the city are a good place to start looking.

We recently had high tea at the Belle Epoque in Southbank and you can read all about that here.

The Stamford Plaza puts on kids high tea buffets in the school holidays with themes such as Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and Willy Wonka.

Shingle Inn City Hall also have themed kids morning teas at Easter and Christmas and these are a lot of fun too.
