White Ridge Farm is an award-winning, family-friendly farm located just north of Brisbane.
With a huge variety of farm animals, and plenty of activities to keeps the kids entertained – from tractor rides and playgrounds to mini golf and more – it’s a fantastic day out for the whole family.
All of these activities are included in your entrance fee, making White Ridge Farm excellent value and somewhere you could easily spend the whole day.
The Animals
Of course, if you’re visiting a farm, the animals are likely the main attraction, and White Ridge Farm has so many for you to meet. Purchase a bucket of animal food on arrival and you can hand-feed the animals, who are always eager to say hello!
You’ll find sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, horses, ducks, chickens, geese, pigs, donkeys, and even a camel. But it was Matilda the cow who truly stole my heart – she was gentle, sweet and so beautiful – we even got to give her a little pat.

The donkeys and horses were a highlight too, and the goats had so much personality. Watching them jostle each other to get to the food first had us all laughing.

There’s an interactive enclosure where you can brush baby goats, hold a chicken and meet rabbits and guinea pigs. They can be a little shy, but you’re welcome to give them a gentle pat.

Tractor and Train Rides
Beyond the animals, there’s plenty more to keep everyone entertained.
Hop aboard the farm train for a ride around the property while learning about the history of White Ridge Farm – did you know it started as a mobile farm?
Then there’s the famous tractor ride through the woods, full of dad jokes and fun things to spot, like a “bottle tree” and a “money tree”. Parents will give knowing chuckles while the kids find it all hilariously funny!

Playground
In the centre of the farm, you’ll find several playground areas catering to different ages. There’s toddler-friendly equipment like ride-on cars, slides and cubby houses, and climbing frames and rope swings for the older kids.

Also in this area are sand pits – one with toy tractors, and another where kids can dig for fossils.

Dotted all around the farm are lots more surprises for children to discover – climbable tractors and camels, an old piano, shelves of books, a typewriter and even an old car.

It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into making the farm fun for all children – not just animal lovers. Whether it’s a rocking horse, a little car to drive, or a book to read, there’s something for every personality.
The whole playground area is shaded by large trees and shade sails, making it comfortable even on hot days.

Mini Golf
There’s also a 9 hole mini golf course with views of the alpacas and the passing tractor ride.
You can play as many rounds as you like – it’s all included in your admission.
The Farm
White Ridge Farm is extensive but easy to manage. The layout is compact and walkable, so little legs won’t get tired too quickly.
There are friendly staff all around the farm, ready to help you interact with the animals and share fun facts. Did you know you can tell a llama from an alpaca just by looking at their ears? Just remember “llama banana” – you’ll never forget it!
There are hand washing stations throughout, which is always appreciated after time with the animals.

The farm also welcomes school excursions and vacation care groups, with a focus on education and teaching children about the beautiful animals.
White Ridge Farm prides itself on being accessible and welcoming to all. You can see this throughout the farm, with wide pathways for prams and wheelchairs, accessible toilets, and baby-change facilities.

White Ridge Farm is one of our favourite farms to visit.
The layout is smart and compact, the animals are beautiful, the staff are friendly and there’s genuinely so much for kids to do. Make sure you allow plenty of time to enjoy it all – you could easily spend a whole day here.
It’s perfect for younger children or animal lovers, and while it can get busy during school holidays, the space is well-designed and there’s room for everyone. If one area is crowded, simply explore something else and come back later.

What Else to do Nearby
White Ridge Farm is located between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, near Caboolture. If you’re heading north to the Sunshine Coast you’ll find Maleny Botanic Gardens, Amaze World and Mooloolaba, all of which are great places to take the family.
South towards Brisbane, and what about spending an afternoon in Wellington Point, or taking the kids for a high tea? I have lots more ideas here.
In Caboolture itself, there’s an annual Medieval Festival which is something a bit different, and very close to White Ridge Farm is Caboolture Historical Village. You are also only 30 minutes away from Bribie Island.
Where to Stay
For easy access to White Ridge Farm you could stay around Caboolture, Bribie Island or the nearby Sandstone Point Hotel – a massive resort complex on the way to Bribie.
Alternatively, make a weekend of it and stay in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast.
