Let me tell you about a school holiday idea that will make you very popular with the kids!
GC Aqua Park is a giant inflatable water park at Broadwater Parklands in Southport on the Gold Coast. Think huge inflatable slides, towers to climb, obstacles to clamber over and plenty of opportunities to fall spectacularly into the water.
In fact, falling off is half the fun.
If you’re looking for something active to do with the kids on the Gold Coast, particularly as the weather starts warming up, this one is definitely worth adding to your list.
What is GC Aqua Park?
GC Aqua Park is essentially a giant floating obstacle course sitting just off the shore at Broadwater Parklands.
There are inflatable slides, climbing obstacles, hurdles, balance challenges and plenty of places to jump (or fall!) into the water.
Sessions run for 50 minutes, with the option to book a double 100-minute session if your kids have the energy for it.
And parents, you have two options here. Get out there and join the kids, or stay safely on dry land and watch the chaos unfold from the beach!
There’s also a café onsite for drinks and snacks before or after your session.

How Old Do Kids Need to Be?
The main GC Aqua Park is suitable for guests aged 5 and over.
There’s one important thing to know if you’re visiting with younger children: kids aged 5–9 need to be accompanied on the water by a paying supervisor aged over 10.
Everyone using the Aqua Park needs to be able to swim, and life jackets are provided and compulsory.
If you have younger kids, there’s also Fun City, a separate area designed for children under five.

How Much Does GC Aqua Park Cost?
Tickets start from $29 for a 50-minute Aqua Park session.
But I’ve got a discount for you!

What Do You Need to Bring?
Come ready to get wet!
You’ll need swimmers, a towel, sunscreen and a change of clothes if you want one.
Aqua socks are compulsory on the course. GC Aqua Park requires you to use their own aqua socks rather than standard grip socks. If you don’t already have a pair from a previous visit, you can buy them at the counter.
Life jackets are included with your entry and must be worn on the course.

Where is GC Aqua Park?
GC Aqua Park is located at Broadwater Parklands, Marine Parade, Southport, opposite Australia Fair Shopping Centre.
There are several paid car parks around Broadwater Parklands, as well as street parking in the surrounding area. Parking can get busy, particularly during weekends and school holidays, so give yourself a little extra time to find a spot.

What Else Can You Do Nearby?
The Gold Coast has SO much to offer families, so it’s easy to turn your Aqua Park session into a full day out, or even make a weekend of it.
You’ve got the Gold Coast theme parks including Sea World, whale-watching cruises during the season, beautiful beaches, plenty of places to eat and even high tea at The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast if you fancy swapping inflatable obstacle courses for something a little more civilised!
I’ve got lots more guides to things to eat, see and do on the Gold Coast. Check them out here.
