The Hills of Rivermakers is new lifestyle precinct in a historic setting by the river in Morningside.
At the heart of the complex is Revel Rivermakers – a Brisbane pub with a playground that attracts groups and families looking to enjoy a relaxed Sunday afternoon while the kids play.

Here’s my full review of Revel Rivermakers.
The Setting
Revel’s home is the Hills of Rivermakers – a renovated factory complex sitting right on the river. Within the complex you’ll find restaurants, event spaces, distilleries and fish and chips.

It’s packed with families on weekends, spread out across the lawns enjoying pizza, beer and kids’ activities like petting zoos and dress-ups.
Speaking of distilleries – you’ve got to try Tamborine Mountain Distillery, a beautiful spot to sample some liqueurs. Read all about it here.
Revel Rivermakers
Revel occupies a great spot front and centre within the Rivermakers complex – actually in the renovated factory itself.

Inside, you’ll find the bar and plenty of seating, while outside there’s a courtyard area and the kids playground. Stretching beyond Revel are even more tables, perfect for couples or groups who don’t need to be near the playground.
There’s a lively atmosphere throughout, with music playing and groups of family and friends creating a great buzz.
It’s both child-friendly and dog-friendly, with plenty of outdoor seating for you and your four-legged friend.

The venue does get busy at weekends and during special events. Parking – although extensive – can be hard to come by.
The Food
The food is your standard pub grub – think steaks, burgers and parmis. Nothing too special. We’re still on the hunt for a Brisbane pub with a playground and great food. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

The beer, on the other hand, is excellent – thanks to the onsite brewery. They produce some fantastic brews bursting with personality and flavour – like the Revel Brown Ale.

The Playground
The playground has recently been extended, and now features a wooden fort, rope ladders, slides and climbing equipment. It does get busy – teeming with kids, in fact – but thanks to the layout of the courtyard it’s easy to keep an eye on your kids. Although the playground isn’t enclosed, it’s nicely tucked away in the corner of the courtyard and the kids won’t want to go anywhere else.
The playground is outside and isn’t undercover, but it’s usually well-shaded.

Revel Rivermakers – Final Thoughts
Revel Rivermakers is an excellent choice for a relaxed drink with friends while the kids play. The food isn’t the best, but the beer and vibrant atmosphere more than make up for it.
Plan Your Visit
Revel Rivermakers is located in the inner-city suburb of Morningside, Brisbane.
There’s ample onsite parking, but it does fill up. At peak times, you’ll be fighting for a space and may need to park further away.
Bookings are strongly recommended at weekends.
